Licensed Certified Social Worker
Somatic Experiencing Practitioner
Registered Yoga Teacher

I am a licensed certified social worker and somatic experiencing practitioner. I have been practicing as a licensed mental health professional for over fourteen years and have been in the helping field since 2004. I graduated with my masters in social work in 2011 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I am a registered yoga teacher and have certificates in yin yoga, mindfulness and breathwork.
Over the years I have said to myself and heard from others “I know it in my head but I can't stop my body”. This struggle is real and can affect all areas of life. Realizing that I needed more than to just think my way out of something, I started learning more about my own nervous system. I also began the somatic experiencing program through the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute. Somatic experiencing explores how the body expresses deeply painful experiences, applying mind-body healing to aid with trauma recovery.
Now as a somatic experiencing practitioner, I take a “body up” approach using somatic experiencing, breathwork and mindful movement focusing on emotional regulation and healing trauma in the body and then addressing the mind. I also pull from numerous other evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in order to customize treatment according to each individual’s needs. I provide time, safe space and support for each person to learn about and heal their own nervous system while getting to know their true self.
My heart is helping adults heal from the past and learn how to regulate their own nervous system.
My hope is to help educate, empower and support individuals in healing and becoming a better version of themselves, a happier and healthier self.
My belief is that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect and be provided a non-judgmental compassionate sounding board.
I look forward to working with you.
